Jairam Criticizes Sukhu Government for Hiring to Boost Ministers’ Image
1 min readShimla: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition, Jairam Thakur, has criticized the Sukhu government for its recent approval to hire two individuals for each minister to enhance their image. Thakur condemned this move, stating that the government is more focused on self-promotion rather than public welfare. Despite having a large administrative setup and advisors, the government’s image remains tarnished, which Thakur attributed to a lack of genuine work and an over-reliance on false propaganda.
Thakur highlighted the dire state of public services, mentioning patients struggling for treatment under the Him Care Scheme, halted Sahara pensions, and doubled examination fees. He questioned how a government fixated on its image can benefit those in need of medical care or financial support.
He pointed out the discrepancy between the funds allocated for image enhancement and the lack of resources for essential services like electricity subsidies, job creation, and timely release of examination results. Thakur accused the government of prioritizing its image over the welfare of the people, leading to widespread frustration among the public.
