Mandi, July 18: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur visited disaster-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh and appealed to private JCB machine owners to assist in reopening blocked roads. He urged them to offer their machines for free, promising that the fuel costs would be borne by his team. With the apple season approaching, Thakur emphasized the urgency of restoring not only main roads but also link roads to ensure market access for surviving apple produce. He also cautioned donors to verify recipients before making contributions to ensure aid reaches the genuinely affected families.
