Jairam  Accuses Sukhu Government of Anti-Sanatan Policies

1 min read

Mandi, February 28 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has strongly criticized the Sukhu government, accusing it of targeting Hindu temples and misusing public funds for self-promotion. Speaking to the media in Sundernagar, Thakur alleged that the government is pressuring temple committees to hand over their deposits to fund its flagship schemes.

He claimed that since coming to power, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has displayed an anti-Sanatan stance and is now attempting to seize temple funds under administrative pressure. Thakur emphasized that temples have always contributed to disaster relief, but forcing them to finance government schemes is unprecedented and unacceptable.

The BJP leader further alleged that while the government has spent crores on advertising its welfare schemes, the actual beneficiaries have received little to no financial support. He cited instances where students under the Sukh-Ashraya scheme faced financial difficulties due to unpaid fees, despite budget allocations.

Thakur accused the Sukhu government of hypocrisy—on one hand, making anti-Hindu statements, and on the other, relying on temple funds for governance. He vowed that BJP will oppose this decision both inside and outside the Assembly and urged the public to resist the government’s move.
