Jairam Accuses Govt of Shielding Accused in Vimal Negi Case

Shimla, 18 Sept 2025 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur alleged that the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government attempted to shield the accused in the Vimal Negi death case. Thakur claimed that while the Chief Minister assured justice in the Assembly, crucial evidence—a pen drive recovered from Negi—was being formatted inside Shimla Sadar Police Station. He further said that the CBI confirmed this act in its report, implicating ASI Pankaj Sharma. Thakur accused the government of granting prime postings to the accused and conspiring to derail the investigation, calling it a “black spot in Himachal’s history.”
