Jai Ram Thakur to be LoP in HP assembly

Shimla, Dec 25 – Former Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur was elected leader of BJP legislature party during meeting of party legislative assembly here Sunday.


A communique released here today said Jai Ram Thakur was elected unanimously in the BJP Legislative party meeting today. Jai Ram Thakur who is six time MLA from Seeraj and was former Chief minister could not bring the party back to power in the recent Vidhan Sabha polls.

 Thakur would be declared LoP soon by state assembly as BJP has minimum majority of 25 to elect BJP Legislative party leader. Among the senior leaders in the party legislative assembly Satpal Sati, Randhir Sharma, Anil Sharma, Vikram Singh and Sukhram Chaudhary. All the MLAs are yet to take oath for 14th state legislative assembly as winter session is scheduled soon at Tapovan Vidhansabha complex near Dharmshala for which new schedule is to be announced.
