Shimla, Dec 12: Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur lambasted the Congress government for its extravagant celebration of two years in power, alleging that over ₹25 crore was wasted without showcasing a single significant achievement. Calling the tenure a “document of failures,” Thakur demanded the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, questioning his moral standing.

He pointed out the plight of HRTC pensioners, who have repeatedly protested for their unpaid pensions, emphasizing the government’s neglect of basic responsibilities. Thakur criticized Congress leaders for their derogatory remarks and demanded an apology from party in-charge Rajeev Shukla.

Commenting on internal conflicts within the Congress, he highlighted the visible infighting and power struggles among leaders, which were evident during the anniversary celebrations. He accused the government of silencing dissenting voices, including those of its own leaders.

Thakur also slammed the controversial “toilet tax,” terming it a disgraceful act. Although the tax was rolled back, he accused the government of implementing it under public pressure and described the episode as an example of administrative failure.

He further demanded transparency in addressing corruption allegations, including liquor, mining, solar project, and PWD scams. Thakur asserted that the government must act on these allegations or risk being seen as complicit.
