Kullu, August 25 – Preparations for the International Kullu Dussehra Festival, to be held from October 2 to 8, 2025, are in full swing. The Dussehra Committee has sent invitations to 332 deities from across Kullu, Manali, Sainj, Banjar, Ani and Nirmand regions. Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish, Vice-Chairperson of the festival committee, said the event is world-famous for the congregation of deities, deeply rooted in the faith and traditions of Himachal.
All registered deities in the district revenue records have been invited through Tehsildars, with arrangements made for their accommodation, electricity, water, security, and traditional honorarium. Temporary camps have been set up at Dhalpur ground and nearby areas, where even Lord Raghunath will reside during the week-long celebrations. Last year, 315 deities participated, while this year the number is expected to be higher.
