International Minjar Fair to be celebrated from 27 July to 3 August,

A meeting was organized at Bachat Bhawan, District Headquarter Chamba, regarding the progress of work related to the arrangements of International Minjar Fair-2025. The meeting was chaired by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. In the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the cultural programs to be presented during the fair, expenditure and income during Minjar Fair, invitation cards/souvenirs, transportation, traffic and parking management, sports competitions, Chaugan maintenance, drinking water supply, electricity supply, cleanliness and health and medical facilities, including necessary repairs in Kala Kendra and Manjri Garden.
On this occasion, the Speaker of the Assembly said that the well-known and historical and internationally renowned Minjar Fair of Chamba district is a symbol of the identity and pride of Chamba district in the country and abroad. Apart from this, Minjar Fair is also a symbol of the ancient rich culture of Chamba district and mutual harmony and brotherhood of different sections of the society. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to maintain the original form and cultural identity of the fair. He expressed hope that like the previous years, this year also the fair will be organized in a completely pleasant and peaceful manner with the cooperation of the administration and the people. He directed all the administrative and departmental officers of the district to perform their respective responsibilities related to the preparations of Minjar Fair 2025 with honesty and seriousness and ensure that there is no lack in the management of the system during the fair. On this occasion, he informed that four Himachali, two Punjabi and two Bollywood cultural evenings will be organized during the Minjar Fair. He said that an opportunity should be provided to present a glimpse of the local culture in the Minjar Fair and to provide maximum platform to Himachali artists. The Assembly Speaker congratulated the district residents in advance for the Minjar Fair and wished them well.
In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal gave detailed information under the work list related to Minjar Mela 2025 and said that the International Minjar Fair is celebrated from the second Sunday of Shravan month to the next Sunday. This year, as per tradition, it will be celebrated in Chaugan No. 1 from 27 July 2025 to 3 August 2025. The duration of business activities during the fair will be 15 days as per the previous practice. During the fair, 8 cultural evenings are organized in Kala Kendra Chaugan, out of which permission to end one cultural evening at 12:00 midnight has been given by the Department of Environment Science and Technology, Shimla and the programs of the remaining seven cultural evenings will be ended by 10:00 pm. In the meeting, ADM Amit Mehra informed the Assembly Speaker in detail about the progress of various sub-committees related to the Mijar Fair.
Former Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal welcomed the Assembly Speaker for attending the meeting. He thanked the Assembly Speaker for providing guidance to the district administration and the conveners and members of various sub-committees. He assured the Assembly Speaker that the district administration, officers and employees and public cooperation will make every effort to improve the organization of the internationally renowned Minjar Fair 2025.
