Inter University Power Lifting competition to be held at CUHP from Mar 9 onwards : VC

Dharamshala, Feb 25 – Central University of Himachal Pradesh is going to host Inter University Power Lifting Competition in the month of March.

Courtesy of the Association of Indian Universities, the university has been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the competition.
Regarding the successful organization of this competition which will run from March 9 to March 12, the University Authorities led by Vice-Chancellor of the University, took a meeting of the sports committee in Shahpur campus and inquired about the preparations. All the members of the Sports Committee were present on the occasion, while the members of the Sports Committee from Sapt Sindhu Campus Dehra participated online in the meeting. On this occasion, Sports Director Prof. Suman Sharma was also present.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the University said the CUHP has been given the opportunity by Association of Indian Universities to host the Inter University Power Lifting Competition here. University was entrusted with the responsibility by AIU of organizing two games last year as well which was carried out in a nice way. Vice Chancellor congratulated the Sports Director Prof. Suman Sharma for the successful organization of these games here last year.

He said this time also the university is ready for successful organization of the Inter University Power Lifting Competition. Sports committee has been formed and the games will be held at the Indoor Stadium Dharamshala. Responsibilities have been assigned to the members of the subcommittees. The sports competition will start on March 9. In the inaugural session, the University is trying to invite the Chief Minister of the state.

Sometime back, discussion was held regarding making the flagship programs successful by the Ministry of Education and whether people are getting the benefit of the schemes of the Centre. So during this time it was decided regarding the Khelo India Fit India scheme that its responsibility should be handed over to the Central University. It is a matter of happiness that today Central University of Himachal Pradesh has its own name. The University has prepared a very good document on Khelo India Fit India. It will be placed before the Prime Minister.
We should move forward and do good work.

In this regard, Sports Director Prof. Suman Sharma said last year the responsibility of organizing two sports was given by AIU and this time the responsibility of organizing one competition has been given.

He said the Games will be held from 9 to 12 March and 150 teams will participate in it. The invitation has been sent by the university to all the registered educational institutions under AIU. There will be more than 1200 participants in the Inter University Women’s Power Lifting Competition. Preparations are going on for the successful organization of the game, committees have been formed. For this competition, which will run from 9 to 12 March, invitations have been sent by the Central University to universities across the country. Out of this, 90 institutions have got registered. In the senior category, there will be competitions in women’s 47 kg category, 52 kg category, 57 kg category, 63 kg category, 69 kg category, 76 kg category, 84 kg category and 84 plus kg category. Coaches and managers will accompany eight players in a team.
Inter University Power Lifting Competition is going to be organized in Central University of Himachal Pradesh from March 9 to March 12. For this reason, the dates of the end-term examination to be held from March 8 to March 14 have been changed. According to Controller of Examinations and Sports Director Prof. Suman Sharma, now these examinations will be held from March 14 to 27.
