Indian concrete institute Shimla Chapter organized Technical Symposium

Indian concrete institute Shimla Centre and Ultratech cement organized Technical Symposium at Hotel Ananda, Kufri Shimla on 24th May 2024. Chairman of the Centre, Ar. V.P.S. Jaswal informed that this symposium was organized on the topic, “Sustainable Development of Hilly Area: Lessons learnt from the Monsoon Disaster of 2023”. Er. Shishir Bansal, Vice President Indian Concrete Institute was Chief Guest of the Programme. Ar. Ajay Sharma, Sr. Manager (Arch.) SJVN Ltd delivered a Key not address on the topic and emphasized the need of a new concept of My Environmental Responsibility (MER). The programme was conducted in online mode also. This symposium was attended by Architects and Engineers of Himachal Pradesh and from all over the country. Indian Institute of Architects (HP Chapter) Chairman, Ar. Nand Lal Chandel, Chief Architect HPPWD Ar. Rajeev Sharma, Er. V. K. Sharma, former Executive Director SJVN, Er. Sunil Grover, former MD (HPSLDC), Ar. Dewan Sharma, former Chief Architect Housing Board, Er. Abhay Tomer, Regional head Technical, Ultratech Cement were among the renowned professionals who graced the occasion.
Ar. V.P.S. Jaswal, Chairman Indian Concrete Institute (Shimla Centre) while addressing the gathering said that sustainable development of the hilly areas is very important if we want to avoid disasters which happened during last monsoon. Ar. Nand Lal Chandel, Chairman Indian Institute of the Architects also addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of Indian Concrete Institute to spread awareness on the very important topic of Sustainable developments in hilly areas.
There was a unanimous call of action at individual and societal level along with other efforts which are being done by the professionals in their professional capacities.
