Indian Army Organizes ‘Greenathon’ Program with St. Thomas School
1 min readShimla, September 24, 2024: The Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Shimla, in collaboration with St. Thomas School, organized a ‘Greenathon’ event aimed at raising awareness among students about environmental protection, tree plantation, and cleanliness. This initiative was part of the Territorial Army’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and was led by the 118 Battalion Infantry Grenadiers Regiment.
Colonel Naveen Kumar of ARTRAC was the chief guest and inspired students to contribute to environmental conservation. Subedar A.P. Tripathi educated students on the importance of nature, tree plantation, and cleanliness, while teachers Surendra Sharma and Salig Kumar emphasized the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. Saplings were distributed to students to promote a greener future, and the harmful effects of plastic were discussed.
St. Thomas School is celebrating its centenary this year.
