New Delhi, November 13: BJP MP and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur emphasized that India and the United States must deepen their partnership not only for mutual progress but to safeguard global security. Speaking at the US–India Strategic Partnership Forum in New Delhi, he said that both nations have suffered the pain of terrorism and are uniquely positioned to lead a unified global response.
Highlighting shared tragedies like 9/11 and 26/11, Thakur said the two democracies must work together to build a global consensus against terrorism. He added that India’s firm and calibrated response to the Pulwama attack—military and diplomatic—has set a “new normal” in India’s approach against terror-backed aggression.
Thakur also underscored India’s clean-energy ambitions, expressing hope for deeper US collaboration as India seeks to expand its renewable capacity from 250 GW to 550 GW in the coming years. He said India aims to increase its nuclear energy output tenfold in the next two decades and envisions India–US cooperation as pivotal in shaping the future of science, energy security, and technological leadership.
The event was attended by leaders including Rajeev Shukla, Jay Panda, RPN Singh, and Vijay Chauthaiwale.
