India Reading Olympiad Lit Festival 2024: Literary Feast in Hyderabad

The book lovers of Hyderabad are in for a special treat with the upcoming India Reading Olympiad (IRO) Lit Festival, presented by the Food 4 Thought Foundation in collaboration with Cyient Foundation, Monocept, and Amadeus. This one-day event is scheduled to take place on February 10, 2024, at Bhaskara Auditorium, Birla Planetarium, Hyderabad.

The highlight of the IRO Lit Festival is India’s First Reading Decathlon, where students from 10 schools across the country will engage in 10 diverse rounds of reading challenges over six hours. The participants will compete for the title of India’s Greatest Reader.

The event will also provide a platform, the Association of Book Clubs (ABC), for book clubs to discuss various challenges and opportunities related to running book clubs. Participating book clubs include Keekli Book Club (Shimla), Kaffineated Konversations (Indore), Ahmedabad Book Club (Ahmedabad), Club Litetrati (Bhopal), Booknerds Dehradun, The Himalayan Writing Retreat (Nainital), Reading Raccoons (Faridabad), Bookoholics (Pune), Literaria Clava, and The Quills Literary Club (Hyderabad).

The grand finale of the festival will be the 6th India Reading Olympiad Awards, where winners across 13 categories will be honored for their contributions to igniting a reading revolution. These winners have been selected by an independent jury consisting of prominent personalities from the corporate, academic, government, and NGO sectors.

The event is open to the public, with the Reading Decathlon commencing at 9 AM, and the Awards Function starting at 5:00 PM in the evening.
