India First, Then Himachal, Then Us: Anurag Singh Thakur

On July 18, 2025, MP from Hamirpur and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur addressed a gathering organized by the World Himachali Organization in Chandigarh. Speaking to representatives of various Himachali welfare groups, he emphasized the need for unity and pride in Himachal’s rich culture and contributions. Participating in the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ initiative, he planted a tree and urged content creators to promote Himachali heritage and cuisine through socially aware digital content.
Thakur stated, “Himachal’s image across the world is of honest, law-abiding citizens. We must live by the principle: India first, then Himachal, and then us.” He praised the solidarity shown by Himachalis in times of natural disaster and stressed the role of digital platforms in nation-building. He encouraged creators to use their voice to bring global recognition to Himachal’s identity, values, and traditions.
