Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur said that due to the Modi government’s effective economic reforms over the past 11 years, India has become the world’s fourth largest economy, surpassing Japan with a GDP of USD 4.18 trillion. He said India continues to be among the fastest-growing major economies despite global instability, with strong domestic demand and rising investor confidence.

Thakur credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for strengthening India’s economic fundamentals, noting record foreign exchange reserves crossing USD 700 billion and an improved GDP growth outlook of 7.3 percent for FY 2025–26, as projected by the RBI. He added that India is on track to become the third largest economy in the coming years and aims to achieve high middle-income status by 2047.

Taking a dig at the opposition, Thakur alleged that Rahul Gandhi continues to run an “anti-India agenda” by questioning India’s economic progress at home and abroad, despite the country’s strong growth indicators and global recognition.
