Importance of Studying Sanskrit Alongside Science and Technology: Prof. Shashi Kumar

Hamirpur, October 13, – Inaugurating the second academic session of the Central Sanskrit Teaching Centre at Himachal Pradesh Technical University in Hamirpur, Prof. Shashi Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor, emphasized the importance of studying Sanskrit alongside science and technology for students pursuing education in these fields.

Prof. Shashi Kumar underscored that a sound understanding of Sanskrit is crucial for innovative research in the fields of science and technology. He explained that many comprehensive concepts are readily available in Sanskrit within ancient texts, which can significantly benefit modern research and development.

During the program, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Principal of Government College Naura, was the chief guest, and Prof. Jaydev, the sponsoring academic, was present as a special guest. Prof. Shashi Kumar highlighted that all Indian languages have their roots in Sanskrit. He discussed how the national education policy aims to promote and support all languages of India.

Furthermore, he appealed to all students to consider including Sanskrit in their course of study. Notably, online and offline classes will be conducted this academic year in the Central Sanskrit Teaching Centre, and the deadline for online applications for admission is October 31.

This event was attended by professors and students from the Technical University, demonstrating the university’s commitment to fostering a rich educational environment that values linguistic diversity.
