IIAS Shimla Hosts National Seminar on 75 Years of Indian Economy and Polity – Exploring the Way Forward in Amrit Kaal

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, is hosting a three-day National Seminar on “75 Years of Indian Economy and Polity – Way Forward in Amrit Kaal.” The seminar commenced on November 20 with an inauguration ceremony at the IIAS Shimla Campus, chaired by Prof. Nageswar Rao, Director IIAS and VC, IGNOU.

The ceremony featured Mr. Lov Verma, IAS, retd., and Prof. Ashok Kumar, Ex VC, as the chief guest and key-note speaker. Dr. Priyesh CA, Seminar Convener, opened the proceedings with a welcome address. Mr. Lov Verma, the Chief Guest, delivered a Keynote address on “India’s Voyage on Economic Growth,” discussing various government policies beneficial for the Aatm-nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan.

Prof. Ashok Kumar, Ex VC, delivered the Inaugural Address, explaining potential challenges and solutions in the path of Aatm-nirbhar Bharat. Prof Nageswar Rao, Director IIAS, delivered a presidential address, emphasizing the importance of education and the New Education Policy in Amritkaal.

Over the three days, researchers from different parts of the country, including Prof. Arun Kumar Srivastava, Prof. Sheela Srivastava, and Prof. Sudhanshu Pandya from Uttar Pradesh, Prof. B P Sarath Chandran from Goa, Dr. Ankur Saxena from Rajasthan, and many more, will present their research and deliberate on “Way Forward in Amrit Kaal.”
