Highlights Drug-Free Society Awareness
Solan, Dec 1 : IEC University’s Assistant Professor Faneendra Singhal and a group of students participated in the “Mega Legal Literacy Camp” organised at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry. The initiative aimed to educate youth on essential legal awareness, the rising threat of drug abuse, and the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, along with distinguished guests Justice Virender Singh, Justice Jia Lal Bhardwaj, and Justice Ramesh Verma. Justice Thakur urged students to stand firmly against drugs and contribute to building a “Nasha-Mukt Bharat.” Other dignitaries emphasized education, awareness, and community participation as key tools for societal reform.
Addressing the gathering, Faneendra Singhal delivered a powerful talk on “Drug-Free Society,” highlighting the physical, psychological, and emotional harm caused by substance abuse. He also discussed its severe impact on family, career and society. He encouraged students to adopt discipline, strong willpower, sports, meditation, and positive social engagement to stay away from addiction.
Students took a pledge to lead a drug-free life and participated in an interactive awareness session. The camp played a vital role in strengthening youth awareness and promoting a healthier, drug-free future.
