HRTC Special Team Cracks Down on Ticketless Travel

Hamirpur, January 31: The special team of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) at Hamirpur depot has apprehended a bus conductor red-handed while extorting money from passengers without issuing tickets. Following the incident, the conductor has been suspended.

The targeted bus, belonging to the corporation, was en route from Sujanpur to Touni Devi. Routine checking led to the interception of the bus, where six passengers were found traveling without tickets. The conductor was collecting money from passengers but not providing them with tickets.

During the inspection, the Flying Squad of the Transport Department imposed a fine of ₹144 on the conductor and caught him in the act. The HRTC has taken swift action by suspending the conductor involved in the malpractice.

This incident is part of the ongoing checking campaign conducted by the special team of HRTC to curb ticketless travel and ensure accountability among conductors. The corporation remains committed to maintaining transparency and integrity in its operations for the benefit of passengers.
