Shimla, March 29, 2026:
The HPV vaccination campaign was successfully launched across Shimla district, with 221 adolescent girls vaccinated on the first day through 39 Cold Chain Points. Across Himachal Pradesh, a total of 1,992 girls were vaccinated at 336 centres.

Health officials noted that turnout was slightly affected due to inclement weather, but vaccination sessions were conducted smoothly with active participation of field staff.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Yashpal Ranta urged parents, teachers, and community leaders to support the campaign and encourage eligible girls aged 14 to 15 years (up to 15 years and 90 days) to get vaccinated.

Further vaccination sessions are scheduled for April 5 and April 12, aiming to ensure wider coverage and protection against cervical cancer and HPV-related diseases.
