HPUTWA Demands Reinstatement of Outsourced Employees

1 min read

Shimla, October 1
The Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Welfare Association (HPUTWA) has expressed strong resentment over the sudden termination of outsourced employees working at Himachal Pradesh University.

HPUTWA President Dr. Nitin Vyas stated that the university has nearly 200 outsourced employees, many of whom have been serving for the past 8–10 years. He pointed out that in the past, even when outsourcing company contracts were renewed, the employees’ services continued without interruption. However, this is the first time employees have been given a six-day break, which has triggered widespread anger and anxiety among them.

Dr. Vyas further said that no prior notice was given to these employees; instead, their services were abruptly terminated. At a time when festivals are approaching, creating such uncertainty has deeply affected the families of these workers.

The association also highlighted that the absence of outsourced staff has disrupted essential services in the Faculty House, Construction Wing, and other departments, causing operational difficulties across the university.

HPUTWA has extended full support to the outsourced employees in this difficult time and has urged the university administration to reinstate them immediately and resolve their issues at the earliest.
