HPTU Sports Meet Begins with Grandeur at Gautam Group of Colleges, Hamirpur

Hamirpur, October 29: The Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) Sports Meet was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Gautam Group of Colleges, Hamirpur on Wednesday. Shri Kamal Dev Singh Kanwar, Registrar, HPTU graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dean Academics, HPTU attended as the Special Guest.

The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Rajneesh Gautam, Secretary of the institution. Managing Director Shri Jagdish Gautam motivated the students to actively participate in sports and imbibe qualities of healthy competition and discipline in life.

Cultural performances by students added colour and energy to the event. In his address, the Chief Guest emphasised that sports not only ensure physical fitness but also cultivate discipline, team spirit, and sportsmanship.

The three-day Sports Meet is hosting around 700 students from 25 colleges across the state, featuring competitions in Volleyball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Carrom, Judo, Chess, Pickleball and more. The opening match of the event began with Kabaddi. The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony will be held on October 31.
