HPTDC Unveils Ambitious Renovation Plans for Shividham Mandi and Shimla Hotels

Shimla, March 13: The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) is set to initiate a mega renovation project for Shividham Mandi, State Guest House Peterhof, and Hotel Holiday Home, incorporating modern amenities to provide high-tech facilities to tourists. This information was shared today by R.S. Bali, Chairman of the Tourism Development Corporation in Shimla.

He mentioned that the work on Shividham in Mandi will be completed with an estimated cost of INR 33.44 crores. Simultaneously, Hotel Peterhof will undergo renovation worth INR 11 crores, and Hotel Holiday Home will witness a facelift with an investment of INR 5.50 crores. To enhance safety measures and boost rural tourism in the state, a new Homestay Policy will be introduced.

Bali, the Chairman of HPTDC, stated that the Tourism Development Corporation is embarking on mega renovations for the repair and development of hotels. The renovation will commence with Hotel Peterhof and Hotel Holiday Home in Shimla, integrating modern facilities. Subsequently, other hotels across the state will also undergo renovation.

He highlighted that four Jyotirlingas have already been established in Shividham Mandi, with the remaining eight planned for development. An expenditure of INR 33.44 crores will be incurred to develop Shividham Mandi into a prominent pilgrimage site. Bali mentioned that a new Homestay Policy will be formulated to focus on ensuring the safety and better amenities of homestays in the state. This policy aims to provide tourists with secure and well-equipped homestays in rural areas of Himachal Pradesh.
