Shimla, May 20, 2024:

In a significant development aimed at enhancing its commercial and tourism prospects, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has announced its decision to broaden its scope by taking on deposit construction and renovation works for other government departments.

A review meeting, chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, the Managing Director of HPTDC, was held today at Hotel Peterhof, Shimla, where all functionaries of the Project Wing convened to discuss the progress of previously assigned tasks. The meeting saw the participation of Assistant Engineers, Sub Divisional Officers, Junior Engineers (Electrical & Civil), and other officials.

During the meeting, Dr. Rajiv Kumar emphasized the importance of expanding HPTDC’s role beyond its traditional boundaries. He expressed optimism that undertaking deposit works for other government departments would not only contribute to the corporation’s commercial interests but also boost tourism prospects in the region.

The decision to undertake deposit works for other government departments was reached after thorough deliberation among the officials present. Directions were issued to all functionaries to take up deposit works from various government departments, and the allocation of work was discussed in detail.

It was decided that HPTDC, already serving as the executing agency of the Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, would extend its services to other government departments as well. Letters have been dispatched to the concerned departments regarding this matter.

The move is expected to streamline construction and renovation activities across various government projects, leveraging HPTDC’s expertise in project management and execution. Additionally, it aligns with the corporation’s mission to contribute to the overall development and promotion of tourism in Himachal Pradesh.

The decision reflects HPTDC’s commitment to innovation and collaboration, marking a new chapter in its journey towards excellence in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
