HPSPCB Kullu Observes Earth Day 2025 with Multi-Stakeholder Meet and Awareness Drives

Manali, April 22, 2025: As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB), the Regional Office, Kullu, commemorated World Earth Day 2025 by organizing a consultation meeting at the Mini Secretariat, Manali. The event was chaired by Shri Anil Joshi (IFS), Member Secretary, HPSPCB, and saw active participation from stakeholder departments including district administration, Municipal Council Manali, Panchayats, hydropower projects, HIMURJA, NGOs, Hotelier Association, and other local institutions.

The meeting centered around sustainable development strategies and promoting renewable energy sources in the Kullu-Manali region. A strong emphasis was placed on adopting a collective approach for the planning and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives.

To reinforce the Earth Day message, cleanliness drives were held in partnership with Manali Public School, Jagatsukh, Krich Cleaning Pvt. Ltd., and Gram Panchayat Karjan in the Karjan Forest area. Similar eco-initiatives were also supported by the Municipal Council Kullu to ensure clean and green surroundings.

Furthering the impact, awareness sessions were conducted at Karjan and PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bashing. These sessions highlighted environmental responsibility and the urgent need to transition towards renewable energy sources.
