HPNLU Ties Up with GNLU for Legal Research & Academic Exchange

HPNLU, SHIMLA SIGNS MOU WITH GNLU, GANDHINAGAR FOR ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH COLLABORATION
Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar, Director, Gujarat National Law University, and Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla. The agreement marks a collaborative effort between two premier institutions to enhance academic engagement, research cooperation, and capacity-building in the field of legal education.
GNLU, a statutory university established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003, and recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC), is a reputed institution in the field of legal education and research. Similarly, HPNLU, established under the Himachal Pradesh National Law University Act, 2016, has swiftly emerged as a centre of academic distinction and intellectual rigor in the Indian legal education landscape.
This partnership seeks to enhance cooperation in the following key areas:
Exchange of Faculty and Students (UG, PG, Ph.D.) for academic enrichment and research exposure;
Joint Research Projects and Publications, with possibilities of applying for funding from national and international agencies;
Collaborative Seminars, Conferences, and Training Programmes;
Mutual Access to Library and Academic Resources for Ph.D. scholars and researchers;
Supervision and Co-supervision of Ph.D. Research Work by faculty members of both institutions;
Development of Interdisciplinary and Practice-Based Legal Education programmes.
This collaboration reinforces HPNLU’s commitment to providing high-quality, socially relevant legal education and cultivating a vibrant academic environment conducive to research, innovation, and the holistic development of students.
