HPNLU Shimla Hosts Special Screening of “Hatti: We Exist”

Centre for Tribal and Cultural Studies, HPNLU, Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, HPNLU Shimla, successfully organized a special screening of the documentary “Hatti: We Exist” on 17 November 2025. The event highlighted the rich cultural heritage and contemporary challenges of the Hatti tribe, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, and reflected the University’s commitment to promoting meaningful discourse on tribal communities.
The documentary offered a compelling portrayal of the Hatti tribe, their way of life, and the socio-cultural issues shaping their present. The event was organized by Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Jaswal, Faculty Director and Dr. Narinder Pal, Faculty In-Charge of the programme, Centre for Tribal and Cultural Studies. The Centre reaffirmed its dedication to continuing initiatives that enhance awareness, research, and dialogue on tribal cultures and their contemporary issues.
