HPNLU Shimla Hosts Sensitization Event for Freshers on Disability Issues

Shimla, August 23, 2024: The Centre for Studies Related to Persons with Disabilities (C.S.D.) at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) Shimla, led by Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Kr. Singh, Vice Chancellor (officiating), organized a special sensitization event for the newly admitted B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. and LL.M. students. The event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities.

Dr. Sachin Sharma, Director of C.S.D., highlighted the importance of such events in educating students about the difficulties experienced by disabled individuals. As part of the event, students participated in an activity where they were asked to write with their non-dominant hand, giving them a brief insight into the everyday struggles faced by people with disabilities. Additionally, a documentary was screened, showcasing the challenges of navigating inaccessible tourist destinations in India.
