HPNLU, Shimla Celebrates “Canvas-e-Khayal” Poster Making Competition

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, successfully conducted a Poster Making Competition titled “Canvas-e-Khayal” on 25th September 2025, as part of the ongoing 9th Foundation Week celebrations (22nd–28th September). Organized by the Cultural Wing of the Student Enrichment Cell, the competition saw enthusiastic student participation around the theme “Himalayas Meeting Justice”, blending artistic creativity with critical socio-environmental reflection. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, who inaugurated the session, addressed the participants, and distributed certificates and mementos to the winners.
The Vice-Chancellor, in her inaugural address, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the transformative power of poster art as a medium of communication. She emphasized how visual expression fosters critical thought and facilitates discourse on important themes such as justice and sustainability.
The competition invited students to interpret and illustrate the theme through original artwork that connected the natural majesty of the Himalayas with the principles of justice and cultural heritage. The entries reflected a wide range of perspectives, combining visual appeal with meaningful content.
A distinguished panel comprising Dr. Chandrika Singh Thakur, Dr. Rohit Sharma, and Dr. Ved Prakash Sharma evaluated the entries, commending the participants for their imagination, innovation, and thoughtful engagement with the theme. Their observations underscored the role of such platforms in encouraging student expression and promoting socially conscious art.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of HPNLU’s Student Enrichment Cell to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment. As the University marks its 9th Foundation Week, Canvas-e-Khayal served as a fitting tribute to HPNLU’s continued efforts in nurturing scholarship, creativity, and civic engagement among its student community.
