HP Teachers Welfare Association Opposes Bill Against Contract Employees’ Seniority and Benefits
1 min readShimla, 19 December 2024 – The Himachal Pradesh Teachers Welfare Association (HPUTWA) has expressed strong opposition to a proposed bill that would deny contract employees seniority and financial benefits from their appointment date, contradicting judicial decisions. The association, in a meeting, unanimously criticized the bill, stating it goes against the rights of contract workers who were selected through the Public Service Commission’s standards.
HPUTWA leaders emphasized that the bill undermines the democratic and justice system, as it treats contract employees as lesser than regular government employees. The association also condemned the government’s decision to introduce the bill despite employees’ expectations for DA installments and arrears in the New Year.
