HP leads in overall vaccination drive: CM
1 min readShimla, May 15 – Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here today that Himachal Pradesh is leading other States for the vaccination for the eligible age groups. He said that so for now 2122894 doses of vaccine have been administered to the people of the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that 81996 first doses and 68686 second doses had been given to Health Care Workers. A total of 54025 first doses and 41419 second doses had been given to Front Line Workers. Similarly, 1561107 first doses and 315661 second doses of vaccine had been given to age appropriate group. He said that a total of 1697128 first doses and 425766 second doses of vaccine had been given to eligible people till 14th May, 2021.
Chief Minister said that Technical Group on population projections released by the Census of India in November 2019, the projected number of persons above 18 years of age in the State of Himachal Pradesh eligible for COVID-19 vaccination is 5523000 and by inoculating 1697128 individuals, the State has covered 31 percent of the eligible citizens. As per the date and the State wise progress of vaccination, the next State is Chattisgarh which has covered 25 percent of the eligible population.
He said that the State Government was undertaking all required efforts for the timely vaccination of the eligible population, which would help in mitigating the effects of the pandemic.
