HP Institute of Legal Studies Students Observe Legislative Assembly Proceedings

Shimla, 10 September 2024: Over 100 students from the Himachal Pradesh Five-Year Legal Studies Institute visited the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today to observe its proceedings. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to meet Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The Chief Minister engaged with the students on topics such as gender equality, opportunities for women in various fields, and other legal matters, while the Speaker explained the legislative process and how bills are passed in the Assembly.

The institute’s Director, Prof. Shiv Kumar Dogra, and Dr. Sanyogita Thakur accompanied the students. Prof. Dogra expressed gratitude to the Speaker and his staff, emphasizing the importance of this visit for law students to gain firsthand experience of the legislative process. Dr. Sanyogita Thakur, the coordinator of the visit, highlighted the practical knowledge students acquire from such activities, which is invaluable for their future careers.
