HP Congress President Pratibha Singh Urges Unified Fight Against Drug Menace

Shimla, February 18: Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh has called upon all sections of society to unite against the rising menace of drugs, chitta, and charas in the state. She urged all political parties to set aside their differences and work together for the welfare of youth and society.
She emphasized that the Congress government is taking firm action to eradicate drugs, with the police actively cracking down on drug traffickers. However, she stressed the need for a widespread public awareness campaign, ensuring participation from parents, youth and women’s organizations, social institutions, sports associations, and local communities.
Pratibha Singh commended village-level anti-drug initiatives and called for stricter border surveillance and a stronger intelligence network to curb drug supply. Expressing concern over the rising number of deaths due to chitta and other narcotics, she urged immediate and effective measures to tackle the crisis.
She also appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and focus on sports and yoga to secure their future and well-being.
