HP: Aged man held under POCSO act for rape of minor

Una, Feb 17 – A 65-year-old man has been arrested under the POCSO act for allegedly raping a minor girl aged about thirteen years in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district, police said on Friday.
The case came to light when the girl complained of stomach ache and went to a civil hospital for treatment. The doctor who examined the girl found that she has been raped and immediately informed the police.
The police reached the spot and took the victim’s statement. The victim said about six months ago her landlord had raped her and forbidden her from disclosing it to anyone.
The relatives of the victim are residents from the outside state while the accused is a local.
SP Una Arjit Sen said after getting the victim’s medical examination done, a case has been registered against the accused who has been arrested and further investigation is on.
