HP: 3-days of monsoon withdrawal, public services yet to be on track

Shimla, Oct 6 – Even after three days of SW Monsoon withdrawal, normal public service couldn’t get restored in the state as dozens of the main road and power supply lines are still disrupted, a state government spokesperson confirmed.
State Disaster Management Authority spokesperson said in the state about 31 major roads are still to be restored and 88 power distribution Transmission lines are out of order. As many as 12 roads are yet to be restored in Kangra district as seven roads are affected in Jaisinghpur sub Division two in Palampur one each in Shahpur, Dharamshala, and Kangra.
Six roads are closed in Kullu, five in Shimla, three each in Chamba and Siramaur and one in Lahaul-Spiti and Solan district. One road is closed in Solan district due to shortage of funds for restoration. 87 power distribution regions are affected in Sub Division Paonta in Sirmour district and one in Pooh of Kinnaur.
According to Met Office, western disturbances bring rain as six mm rain was record at Paontashaib. Minimum temperatures changed during the past 24 hours but no large change. Average Minimum temperatures were above normal in the state and Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti was coldest with 4.5 degrees Minimum Temperature.
Wednesday night an incident of drowning was reported at Dehra near Shamshan Ghat Sub. Div Dehra in which two people are missing. Police team is on the spot. Victims are reported to be local. As many as seven people died and 11 injured during past 24 hrs in various accidents in the state including three in Sirmaur,two in Kullu one each in Hamirpur and Una.
