Historic Eight-Storey Mata Bagheshwari Temple Reduced to Ashes in Rajgarh

In a heart-wrenching incident, the ancient eight-storey Mata Bagheshwari Temple, situated on the border of Rajgarh and Thiyog Development Block in the Kuthar village, has been reduced to ashes.

The temple, with a history dating back thousands of years and believed to be connected to the Pandavas, housed nearly three hundred idols of various deities from the Pandava era. Devotees from Rajgarh, Koti Padhog, Matel Bakhog, and the Kuthar and Tikkar Panchayats considered the temple a spiritual center.

Devi Das Sharma, the temple’s priest, shared that the temple’s roots are intertwined with the Pandavas. It featured approximately three hundred idols of deities from the Pandava era. The temple held significant cultural and religious importance, serving as a central point of faith for the residents of Rajgarh Gram Panchayat, Koti Padhog, Matel Bakhog, and the Kuthar and Tikkar Panchayats.

Upon receiving the distressing news, police and fire department teams swiftly reached the site to initiate an investigation into the incident. The destruction of this historic temple, a repository of cultural and spiritual heritage, marks a profound loss for the community. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and assess the extent of the damage to this revered structure.
