Shimla, December 12: A massive protest rally was held at CTO Shimla against the persecution and atrocities on Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh. Organized by the Defenders of Human Rights and supported by several social organizations, the rally voiced strong condemnation of the ongoing violence.

Ajay Srivastava, state coordinator of the organization, highlighted the continuous oppression since August 5, citing murders, sexual assaults on women, temple demolitions, and arrests of Hindu leaders and priests. He criticized the role of Mohammad Yunus, accusing him of masterminding these events and promoting extremist agendas.

Srivastava emphasized that India’s contributions in the 1971 liberation of Bangladesh, led by Hindu society and the government, have been forgotten. He called the atrocities against Hindus and ISKCON an insult to that shared history.

The protestors demanded the Bangladeshi government immediately cease atrocities, ensure minority rights, and urged the Nobel Committee to revoke Yunus’s 2006 Peace Prize, labeling it a “stain on humanity.” They also called for international legal action against him.

The rally marked a unified stand by religious and social groups in Himachal, pledging to send memorandums to global organizations for justice and equality for Hindus in Bangladesh and beyond.
