HIMUDA to construct multipurpose building in Vikasnagar: CM

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today while presiding over a meeting of senior officers of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) and said that HIMUDA will construct a state-of-the-art multipurpose building in Vikasnagar, Shimla. He said that the proposed complex will be one of the most modern buildings in Shimla to be built on a 10-bigha plot of land at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 150 crores. He said that this complex will house government offices, a shopping complex, a hotel, and two floors dedicated to parking. The groundbreaking ceremony for this project is scheduled on 1st January 2025 and is expected to complete the construction within 18 months.
The Chief Minister said that the architecture of the building will reflect the rich heritage and culture of Himachal Pradesh and will be designed to be a green and eco-friendly building along with solar passive features. He directed to prepare the preliminary Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this project at the earliest. He asked HIMUDA to expedite the construction process and ensure timely completion of the project.
Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy, MLA Harish Janartha, Vice Chairman HIMUDA Yashwant Chhajta, Chief Executive Officer HIMUDA Sandeep Kumar, Director Town and Country Planning Kamal Kant Saroch, and senior officials of the department were also present in the meeting.
