Shimla, October 27: Hari Krishna Himral, Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee and Director of the Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Bank, has lauded Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s recently launched ‘Government at the Doorstep’ campaign. The initiative kicked off with the Chief Minister staying overnight in the remote village of Dodra Kwar in the Shimla district, where he directly observed the issues faced by local residents. Himral highlighted that this is the first time a Chief Minister has spent a night in a village, showing a commitment to understanding grassroots problems.

Himral emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s dedication to improving the lives of the poor and residents in remote areas. He noted that this step will also help government officials understand and address the challenges faced by rural communities. Earlier, the Chief Minister celebrated Statehood Day in Spiti Valley, showcasing the government’s commitment to the development of all regions.

In response to former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur’s criticism of the Congress government as a “flip-flop government,” Himral reminded him of several decisions made under pressure during his tenure. In contrast, he praised the Sukhu administration for making bold and independent decisions that will bolster Himachal Pradesh’s economy.
