HIMCOSTE to Organize Green Skill Development Programmes in January 2025

The Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology & Environment (HIMCOSTE) is set to conduct two certificate courses under the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) in Shimla in January 2025. These courses, sanctioned by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC), include:
1. Apiculturist (Wild Bee) NTFP – 240 hours.
2. Nature Conservator Cum Ecotourism Guide – 420 hours.
Dr. Suresh C. Attri, Joint Member Secretary HIMCOSTE, emphasized the initiative’s aim to enhance youth skills in sustainable tourism, conservation, and environmental awareness. The program includes free lodging and boarding and offers hands-on training in beekeeping, sustainable tourism principles, and the economic benefits of ecotourism.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, praised HIMCOSTE for its commitment to promoting environmental conservation and green skills, aligning with the state’s green initiatives. Upon completion, participants will receive certifications, enhancing their employability in the green sector.
