Register or Renew Himcare Cards by March 31 to Avail Free Treatment up to ₹5 Lakh

Hamirpur, Feb 28 : Beneficiaries have been urged to register or renew their Himcare cards by March 31, 2026, to continue availing free cashless treatment under the Himcare health scheme sponsored by the Himachal Pradesh Government.

Under the scheme, eligible families can receive free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh per year upon admission to empanelled government hospitals. The card can be generated through Lokmitra Kendras, Common Service Centres (CSCs), cyber cafes, or directly via the official website [www.hpsbys.in](http://www.hpsbys.in) by uploading Aadhaar card, ration card, mobile number, category certificate, and paying the prescribed premium.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Praveen Chaudhary informed that new registrations will now be allowed only during March, June, September, and December. The current registration window will remain open from March 1 to March 31, 2026. Card renewal can also be done within this period. The card will remain valid for one year.

Premium categories are as follows:
• Category I: BPL families, MGNREGA workers, and registered street vendors – ₹0 premium
• Category II: Single women, persons with over 40% disability, daily wagers, contract, part-time, and outsourced employees – ₹365 premium
• Category III: Other eligible beneficiaries (excluding government employees and pensioners or their dependents) – ₹1000 premium

An additional service charge of ₹50 is applicable for enrollment and document upload.

The scheme covers a wide range of common and serious illnesses. Treatment is available at empanelled government hospitals across the state and at selected private hospitals (only for dialysis patients). Facilities are also available at PGI Chandigarh and AIIMS Bilaspur.

Authorities have appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to complete registration or renewal within the stipulated time to avoid inconvenience during medical emergencies.
