BJP MP Suresh Kashyap slammed the Congress government, accusing it of opposing railway expansion in Himachal. He stated that between 2009-2014, no railway track was added, while under Modi’s leadership, 16.5 km has been constructed. He highlighted ongoing projects worth ₹13,168 crore and criticized the Congress for not paying its share for railway projects. Kashyap claimed that the Congress government lacks the will to develop Himachal’s rail network, unlike the Modi government, which has ensured full electrification and modern railway infrastructure in the state.
