Himachal’s Hasitvik Earns Spot in National Rifle Shooting Competition

Haritvik Jishtu, a resident of Sarpara Panchayat in the remote Durgham region of the Rampur sub-district, has been selected to participate in the national-level 50-meter rifle shooting competition. This 14-year-old shooter’s selection has brought joy and pride to the region.

Haritvik, one of the youngest shooters in Himachal Pradesh, has once again demonstrated his talent by earning a place in the national-level competition for 50-meter rifle shooting. He achieved this feat at the 32nd All India GV Mavlankar Rifle Shooting Competition held in Maun, Madhya Pradesh.

In this competition, Haritvik scored an impressive 561 points, securing his spot in the national-level competition. Haritvik was born on October 24, 2009, in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He hails from the Sheelabhavi village in the Sarpara Panchayat of Rampur, Himachal Pradesh.

His father, the late Bhagwan Das Jishtu, was a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in the Himachal Pradesh Police. It was his father who inspired and encouraged Haritvik to take up rifle shooting. Haritvik is currently an eighth-grade student at Stokke Memorial School in Pujarli and is receiving training in the Indira Gandhi State Sports Complex.

Haritvik attributes his success to his coach Ravinder Prakash, the support of his principal, and the blessings of his teachers. Ishwar Rohal, the Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Rifle Shooting Association, congratulated Haritvik on his achievement and wished him a bright future.
