Himachal Working to Restore Disaster-Hit Roads on Priority:  Vikramaditya

Shimla, November 15: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the state government is restoring all rain- and disaster-damaged roads across Himachal Pradesh within a fixed timeline. He was addressing a public gathering in Kangal Panchayat after inspecting the Chamola Khad–Kangal–Barfanighat–Kotighat–Thathal link roads in the Theog Assembly constituency. Local MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore was also present.

Singh said that under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s leadership, uniform development is being ensured in every constituency. He added that the government recently amended the relief manual to provide enhanced compensation for damaged houses, land, and retaining walls affected during the monsoon disaster.

The minister announced that the Chamola Khad–Kotighat–Matyana road will be widened and strengthened, while construction on the Bag Kyalu–Darogda–Nag Jubbar road is progressing and will be completed soon.

During the visit, Singh also heard public grievances and resolved most issues on the spot with the help of officials.

MLA Kuldeep Rathore welcomed the minister and highlighted key road-related demands of the constituency. The event saw participation from Zila Parishad member Ujjwal Mehta, Panchayat Pradhan Kritika Negi, PWD Superintendent Engineer Suresh Kapoor, officials, panchayat representatives, and local residents.
