Himachal Shuts Schools and Colleges Till September 7 Due to Heavy Rainfall

Shimla, September 3 – The Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered the closure of all Government and Private Schools, Colleges, and DIETs across the state till September 7, 2025, in view of continuous heavy rainfall, landslides, road blockages, and damage to public infrastructure.

Teachers and administrative staff have also been exempted from physical attendance, though institutions have been instructed to conduct online classes wherever feasible. The Education Department has directed school and college heads to remain vigilant about the safety of buildings and ensure movable assets and records are secured against possible damage.

The decision comes amid reports of widespread road closures, electricity disruptions, and risk of further landslides across the state.
