Himachal Received ₹54,662 Crore in 11 Years from Modi Govt: Anurag Thakur

New Delhi/Shimla, Sept 6, 2025 – Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur highlighted that Himachal Pradesh has received financial assistance of over ₹54,662 crore from the Modi government in the past 11 years. Speaking at an event on Himalayan states at the Constitution Club of India, he emphasized that Himalayan states will play a pivotal role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new momentum to India’s growth and envisioned a “Viksit Bharat.” Stressing the spiritual and strategic importance of the Himalayas, he noted that Modi was the first to propose a **Separate and Special Development Policy** for Himalayan states soon after assuming office in 2014.
Listing major projects in Himachal, Thakur mentioned AIIMS Bilaspur (₹1,470 crore), approval of ₹56.26 crore for Chintpurni Temple under PRASAD scheme, a medical college at Jol Sappad, Central University in Dehra, Hydro Engineering College at Bilaspur, PGI Satellite Centre in Una, and the foundation of a Bulk Drug Park. He also highlighted railway projects, including Vande Bharat Express, completed stations at Amb-Andoura, Chintpurni Marg, Daulatpur Chowk, and the ongoing Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line, expected to connect Bilaspur by 2027.
