Shimla, April 27 – Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil today participated in the interactive sessions with the stakeholders and experts from various Ministries, industry fora and startups on the second day of the 6th edition of Advantage Healthcare India (AHCI) organized by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare at New Delhi.
The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) has co-branded the 6th edition of One Earth One Health, Advantage Healthcare India-2023 with India’s G20 Presidency.
While speaking at the Medical Value Travel Awards –2023 event last evening, which was part of the two day long event, Dr. Shandil said that Himachal Pradesh has vast potential for Medical Tourism. The state was blessed with immense natural beauty and its peaceful and serene environment was the perfect place for patients travelling to India for medical treatment, said the Minister. The rich culture, food, breathtaking valleys, beautiful tourist destinations, temples and monasteries attract domestic and foreign tourists in large numbers and medical tourism can open up vast employment opportunities to local people, therefore, improving the economy of the state, said Dr. Shandil.
He lauded the organizers for holding an event that aimed at promoting health and wellness and added that the concept of combining travel with health will not only benefit travellers but also boost the economies of states.
The two-day long event aims to emphasize on creating opportunities for healthcare collaborations between the participating countries. It will enable participants to network with peers worldwide, exchange ideas, build contacts and create strong business partnerships.
125 exhibitors and around 500 hosted foreign delegates from 70 countries are participating in the Summit.
