Himachal Pradesh Forest Department Strives to Fill Vacancies Amid Ministerial Staff Shortage

2 min read

Bilaspur, October 8: The Himachal Pradesh Forest Department Ministerial Staff Association has laid out a three-pronged plan to address the shortage of ministerial staff in the department. This decision was taken during a recent general house meeting held in Bilaspur under the leadership of Association President Prakash Badal.

In this tripartite plan, the association will meet with department heads, including Chief Secretary Sukhvinder Singh Sukhoo, to discuss the urgent need to fill more than a hundred vacant positions in the forest department. The association also expressed concerns about the prolonged delay in promotions for various positions within the department.

President Prakash Badal highlighted that the forest department has been grappling with a severe shortage of ministerial staff for several years. While many forest guards’ positions have been filled over the years, ministerial positions have remained vacant, putting immense pressure on the existing staff.

Moreover, the shortage of residential accommodations for forest department employees was also raised during the meeting. The association plans to strategize with senior officials to address this issue promptly.

In attendance at the meeting were senior office bearers of the association, including Vice President Narayan Singh and Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary Rajneesh Thakur, Treasurer Chiranjee Lal Verma, and Vice Presidents representing different units, including Manoj Thapar from Rampur, Narayan Singh from Dharamshala, and Krishna Singh from Kullu, among others. Over a hundred employees from across the state participated in the discussion.

The association is hopeful that their efforts will help alleviate the staff shortage, facilitate overdue promotions, and improve the living conditions for forest department employees across Himachal Pradesh.
