2 min read

In a statement released today, Harikrishna Himral, the Chairman of the HPCSC (Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Bank) Training Department and Director of Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Bank, commended Chief Minister Sukhdev Singh Sukkhu for presenting a well-balanced and progressive budget. Despite facing substantial financial challenges, the Chief Minister managed to present a budget that focuses on the state’s sustainable and intelligent future.

Himral stated that the Himachal Pradesh Financial Budget for 2024-2025 holds the key to a secure, smart, and robust future for the state. He emphasized the strategic role played by agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and overall domestic production per capita income. Himral believes that these sectors can position the state among the best in India.

The budget meticulously outlines financial provisions, effectively addressing social security schemes, and monitoring income from agricultural commodities. The presentation has also adeptly tackled the issues raised by farmers, advocating for MSP (Minimum Support Price) adjustments based on the remaining amount.

Himral specifically highlighted the increase in procurement prices for dairy products, such as milk from cows, buffalo milk, and cow milk, exceeding the previous record. This step is expected to encourage farmers to engage in animal husbandry, subsequently reducing the risks associated with stray livestock on roads.

Additionally, the budget introduces a significant hike in the purchase price of milk, with an increase of INR 10 for cow milk, INR 38 for buffalo milk, and INR 45 for cow’s milk, making it the highest in the region. Himral believes that this move will incentivize dairy farming and curb the growing threat of stray animals on roads.

Himral concluded his statement by extending congratulations to Chief Minister Sukkhu for presenting a vibrant budget that addresses the state’s key sectors, encourages agriculture, and promotes overall economic growth.
