1 min read

Shimla, December 20: On the second day of the winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the BJP launched a vehement attack even before the proceedings began, targeting the Congress government over the guarantee of purchasing cow dung. Opposition MLAs arrived at the assembly carrying a bag of cow dung and vociferously protested against the government. They reminded the government of the guaranteed purchase of cow dung at two rupees per kilogram.

Opposition leader Jayaram Thakur stated that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh had promised to buy cow dung from farmers at two rupees per kilogram before coming to power. However, even after one year, the government has not fulfilled this guarantee. The opposition leaders expressed concern that people’s cow dung has dried up in one year, prompting them to protest at the assembly today. The Chief Minister will be handed over bags of cow dung, and he will be asked when the guarantee of purchasing cow dung will be fulfilled.

Thakur accused the Congress government of misleading the people before coming to power and providing false guarantees. The opposition will not let the government forget these guarantees, and questions will be repeatedly raised in the assembly until the government fulfills its promises. The opposition will systematically question the government on each guarantee.
